Guipure lace (also called "chemical lace") with its distinctive designs has always been one of the more precious laces. It should be used just flat or slightly pressed into a rounded shape. Otherwise, the beautiful design of the lace gets lost. Guipure lace is always used most effectively on a plain and/or constrasting ground. This particular lace is well suited for a plastron since it is symmetrical (gallon). Some age spots present. The lace is well sized and slightly stiff. Rub it for softness (do not wash).
