Gorgeous Featherweight 221K - a dream machine!

SOLD

Leise, stark und ausdauernd!

The wonderful Singer 221 K Featherweight flatbed sewing machine, 230-250 volts,  in top condition! The machine is from the early 1950s and sews a straight stitch, that is arguably one of the best straight stitches around on any machine. It handles from fine silk to leather effortlessly (with adjustments to thread, needle and tension) .-She comes fitted with a German plug (easily changed). She has been thoroughly serviced, new rubber feet added to the foot pedal and machine, new rubber belt, the electrics have been checked and   serviced. Also included are the original instructions.  She sews like a dream!

The decals are original as are the fine scratches. I never repaint or add new decals - this is part of her charm, I feel. she gets her insides checked for everything but her outside just gets a good polish.

The number of the machine is: EG646950, produced in Kilbowie, Scotland in May 1951!

The machine is almost indestructible and cannot be compared to today's machines that will stitch lots of designs (normally rarely used) but lack on stitching quality and sturdiness.

The machine itself weighs about 5 kilos, with case and all accessories about 10 kilos.
