Pretty rayon braid from the 1950s, English manufacture. The single cords of the trim are secured with 4 rows of chain stitching. If you want to lay the braid in tight curves, just unravel the outer row of the chain stitching on each side (the braid will not fall apart). Now you can curve the braid as desired and stitch it down.
The braids can show age related color variations (fading)!
