  • Description
Very rare and unusual antique embroidery made on a hand-embroidery machine, in use from around 1860 to about 1920. These embroideries are made with 1 thread, just like real hand embroidery and  the special machines were very difficult and laborious to operate, requiring years of practice and skill. Later lace embroideries were made as today: with a top thread and a bottom thread, like a normal sewing machine. This motif  (thread most probably silk) is embroidered on finest cotton ground with most intricate stitching. For collectors, for a small bag, or just framed, or slightly padded on top of an exquisite box. You won't find anything like this so easily again - maybe in a museum! 2 Motifs available.
